Don't believe a word the AA says
A few years ago the Wife's car at the time an S Type drove into the petrol station on Christmas Eve and upon filling up the car She noticed a flat tyre .She called the AA out who changed the wheel She then attempted to start the car and found that the dash lights weren't coming on .AA then sold and fitted her a new battery .Dash Lights still not lit.He then checked the fuses and found a blown fuse .Fuse changed Dash Lights lit .Hooray! Wrong.Car wouldn't turn over .They then recovered the car to our home address. As it was Christmas there was no chance of finding anyone to attend .So I checked around the car for anything obvious like a solenoid wire off etc .All ok .I then decided to start from the beginning of the problem .A flat tyre
Yes you've guessed it
.The "mechanic had jacked the car up on the battery lead which runs from the boot to the engine and severed one of the two main power supply leads .
Hence why I'm always sceptical of their diagnosis capabilities .I would get the driveshaft fitment checked .Years ago a VW Santana caught me out with a mis diagnosed clutch fault .Thankfully My Father was still alive and pointed out my error of judgement
