I've had a WDC kit in my car since 2007, only issue I had was the front passenger side window switch peeling away after about 2 1/2 years. I got a replacement set of window switch bits and it's been fine since.

My biggest issue is the colour match with the "plastic wood" of the console brow and the cupholders; very noticeable in bright sunlight. I believe Simon's stuff is a much better match.

yes it is much better all who have bought will vouch for that, look at the pictures in post 1 of this thread for the walnut comparison, and the light oak is even better

I asked Simon about door cappings a while back, but he wasn't too sure about the glue as it's near the window & may not adhere in any heat Fingers crossed he can solve the issue, because i think they'd look great.

I have asked Simon if he can update his schematic in post 1 of this thread to include all he now makes for the 75 but he is a bit reluctant as he has made so many special one offs for members that it could be too large.

For those members that may not know apart from the full kit at post 1 he does sunvisor panels and the rear air vent panel (see below ) but is not adding these to the cost of a full kit as not all members want them.

Prices
Sunvisors is £10 + £2 delivery
Rear Airvent £7 + £1 delivery

( no delivery charge if ordered with a full kit )

As some of you will know Simon has stopped supplying the chrome at present as he is trying to find a replacement material - so watch this space.

The door cappings are a non starter and the technical reasons are as follows:

The problem is the cappings would be put directly next to the window, and when the sun shines, not just in the summer, the temperature near the window gets quite hot and they become wavy. The reason this happens is that the base material (woodgrain) is polyester, which is heat resistant but the resin and the adhesive are thermoplastic.Under prolonged heat the resin and adhesive expand, (but at different rates), but the polyester does not, so a wave is formed. When the walnut panel cools down the wave is "locked" in due to the difference in the expansion and contraction rates of the resin and adhesive. The only way to get rid of the wavy effect is to remove the panel and reapply it, but of course removing it usually destroys it.

Default How about door panels?

Hello all,
I have Simon's kit and it is so much better than the other "walnut co" kit.

I can understand the door capping being a no go....but how about a curved panel that fits on the inner edge of the door interior that would sit above the door release handle?
I have a sandstone interior and I think that would look great .

I know its pretty mainstream in other makes and models but I would like it in my 75.
