In tank fuel pump
Hi Folks
Just wondering if any one has ever modified the twin diesel pump system into a single in tank pump system on a 2003 75 2.0 CDTi. My in tank pump is dead and has probably fatally wounded the under bonnet pump as well? Any suggestions on this or best place to buy the pump or pumps would be appreciated thanks a lot. |

Your proposal has been discussed several times on the forum. I believe it's rather more complicated than just fitting a 'better' single pump in the tank.
The standard advice is to replace it (and most likely the UBP as well) with known good quality ones. Maybe worth attempting a thread search, though it's not easy to find stuff these days. TC |

Marinabrian has converted one of his. Running with a failed ITP won't damage your UBP - it just gives it a bit more work to do.

Shame that the fuel tank wasn’t fitted with a balance pipe. Would have solved the issue. Only because it is a saddle tank does this problem occur as ITP works too hard and gives up the ghost, leaving 1/4 tank unable to be used.
