The best advice I can give on snakes is to ignore them. 9 times out of 19 they will leave you alone, give them a wide berth
His snake gear is brilliant Phil, he could probably carry out mine clearing duties as well in that clobber.

I understand what you are saying Rav about not killing the snake. I am battling superstition and ignorance. I have told the men, time and time again to leave the snakes alone. 20 species are deadly and some will strike without warning. The Black Mamba is the most feared. I had to stop our men from prizing a boulder up to get to one. I was in fear of my life and theirs at the time as they can move very fast and their venom has been known to kill 4 men within 20 minutes. I was on the mountain with the guys road building, putting in a new track when I saw two of them chasing a Mamba with sticks. Fortunately for us, it slipped under a boulder to get away. I can’t be doing with fatalities at work from a snake bite, so the men are on a final warning....
The local hospitals do not keep anti-venom. The nearest stock is 14 miles away. Despite this, I have had to learn a great deal about snakes +bites etc,

I don't want to react or say something to someone, that normally I wouldn't, goodnight all, I'll speak soon.

Evening all

I don't often post up in the Chill Out Zone however it's been brought to my attention that some posts have been derogatory towards other members and a bit near the knuckle.
I'm not going to trawl through all the posts but we all know the rules etc. Let's keep it civil and pleasent

Cheers and hopefully I will be chilling out in the zone in a couple of weeks when my annual leave from work starts

All the best for tomorrow Richard. Try and remember the good times you had with your Dad. My thoughts and heartfelt wishes go to Derek and Lilian.
Have a peaceful night.

Good morning Simon, welcome to the lounge, pull up a chair and relax
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to our friends present and absent in Scotland having to endure the bad weather. Stay safe folks.

Good morning Steve, how are you? I didn’t compliment you on your photo and fantastic smile Just remembered I took a photo of the guys trying to lift the boulder up with a stake to get to the Mamba, the guys were laughing and it’s that level of ignorance that is the problem.

Good morning all, well it seems the weather forecast for Storm Caroline as it arrived here overnight. The rain is lashing against the windows and it's blowing a gale. I definitely won't be venturing far today.
