Default Trip Computer

Anyone know why when retro fitting a Hi Line sat nav system the
Trip Computer option is not shown on the monitor when the Menu butten is pressed.

The Hi Line manual states that the trip computer will not be shown if the IPK does not have a message center and the trip computer fitted.
Well my 75 has a trip computer and the message center.

This is not a important problem as the trip computer display on the monitor just repeats what is shown on the message center.

I just wondered if the Hi Line system needs some sort of connection to the IPK.

Dave, I think it's a T4 job to configure the system.

Think you are right, it will most likely have to be switched on in T4.
The odd thing is that everything about the Hi Line sat nav works ok.
The radio, TV, CD changer, Cassette player and the Sat Nav, so I wonder why just the trip computer has to be enabled.
Even stranger that the "Bear" retro fit works OK.

The date time Facility does not work on our Cars or Setting up a Security Code for System
These functions only work on BMW's I'm afraid.
There is a Few more Functions that don't work on the MK4 with 16:9 screen also.
To get permanent on TMC you have to either have Classic FM or a few other Stations with Facility or Change Radio unit to the BM24 or BM54 Units, these have TMC on all the Time and so will reroute etc when Incidents ahead are read. The TMC will then be in Green all the Time, If Red TMC showing you do not have TMC functioning.

Updating the Camera Database and the Places where regular Vans are parked is no easy thing to compile as not readily available, and cannot be updated very Quickly (well by me it can't) and has to be adapted for our and BM* MK4 Computer DVD Discs.

I have not yet looked at doing different startup Pictures etc, but will do when more timer is available, there is some threads on this and has been done by other members even using Pictures of Their own Cars etc.
