Default Insurance time again....

I know we have had many a thread on Insurance renewals, I just cant seem to find them.

Anyway my renewal came through yesterday......£241.78 with Protected No Claims, Compulsory excess of £100.00....£0.00 Voluntary excess. 2 named drivers. with Zurich.

Really good price well chuffed.

Ours was just under £300 with Direct Line, protected no claims, guaranteed hire car 3 named drivers. and for Northern Ireland that's pretty good. Closest local quote was £420

I won't even tell you how much mine is going to be... let's just say moving 15 risk codes hasn't help....

Oh and I got told yesterday that having a powerful car didn't help, when I challenged him on that with the size of vehicle versus a Citroen Saxo sporty version, he went.. you know what I mean. I'm like give me a break...

Cheers,

Michael T

I found Bell insurance the cheapest for the last two renewals. first year i had no ncb due to having classic policys, they were a lot cheaper than the rest even if i put down i had 2 years on the other quotes. Another way i found to get the price cheaper was if i put the girlfriend down as a second driver, knocked about £45 more off, she has never driven the 75 yet and prob won't,thanks dan

Just remember to go through a cash back site.

I used Quidco for the house insurance, got a good deal AND £120 cash back for using Quidco.

For example, mykl your Zurich quote would have earnt you £50 cash back . . .

Also get phone quotes and internet quotes. Tesco internet is supposed to offer a 15% discount over a Tesco telephone quote - when I enquired the phone quote was cheaper than the telephone quote - even Tesco couldn't / wouldn't say why.

I've just been quoted £600 FC for my soon to be ZT 135+

Am 34, 5yrs NCB, greater london, 2x sp 30s on license.

Actually works out £50 more than my recently departed Lexus Soarer Twin turbo!!!!!!

But I'll recoup that in 2 weeks with the fuel savings

i used confused.com to find mine
i got fully comp/6 years protected no claims/RAC breakdown, it was £190, but i went for key care too taking it to £205(i have a token on my keys, any keys on the ring will be replaced(including locks)that also includes my house keys and locks.
Churchill's couldn't get anywhere near it(over £90 more and that was without RAC)
