Default Hi Line Sat Nav trip computer

At yesterdays Yorkshire meet I was having a look at Stocktakes Sat Nav unit,
his is a 1999 car.
His display is the same as mine that is no Trip Computer option, as in the picture below..

However the 2001 Hi Line manual I have shows a display with a Trip Computer option..

The manual states that the trip computer will not be a option if the message center is not fitted..

I have the message center fitted to my 75.

I wonder if the Trip Computer option was not fitted to early Hi Line sat nav models and was only fitted to later models..

I am quite sure if you hit the "Set" button you might get the Consumption, Distance Travelled Max Speed Warning all put together in there.
It was on all the MK3 Computers upward for sure, sorry can't be of more Help.

Yes you are right John, all the info is the Set Menu and also in the Message Center display..

Maybe some of the members who have Hi Line sat nav could have a look and see if they the Trip Computer option.

All in all this not an important problem, just one of the interesting questions about the Rover 75.

I've got it. 1.8t 2003. Set just sets up colour and miles/KM and laguage. I've set mine to German. It makes it all the more fun to use and defaults to a route to Poland, then Paris via Belgium.
Do you have the info displayed via the indecator stalk button?

I had mine activated by T4 about 2 weeks ago. When I installed it the trip computer never showed up, I read somewhere that you have to tell the car the high line setup is installed, so when I took the car for a service I asked and sure enough they activated it on the T4 for me.

Works a charm.

Ah, so that's the reason why on my retrofit aswell!! Just need to pay £60 for it to be T4'd. Mmmmmm wish I'd thought of that, the car was just serviced last month £350..., I suppose they wouldn't have charged as this was it's 'big service' (big = expensive). Nah probably would have charged the extra £60!!

It must be one of the quirks of retrofitting Hi line sat nav.

Strange how its all plug and play except for this one function..

Does that mean mine has to be activated as well Dave? I think mine is factory fit.

If so when you have yours done on the T4 see if there is discount or two for one and we coud split the cost and share the savings

My garage only charged me £20. Although it was done at the time of the service. The guy did say however that the guy who normally does it was not in that day. He said to pop the car back next week and they'd do it for me. Can't imagine they would of charged me £60 as they told me to come back.
