Default Removing front seat torx bolts HELP

Trying to remove my front seats, I have removed one of the torx bolts from the passenger seat but when I have tried to remove the second it seems to have rounded off! The 1st one was very tight but this is ridiculous... Any ideas on how to remove it and also where to source new ones? Can I replace them with normal bolts or will they foul the seat runners???

You need a 'Ribe' socket, torx are incorrect, though 99% of the time will be ok, you cant fit any other bolt as it will foul when it slides.

Mr Haynes tells porkies!

No idea what size Ribe for the seats, sets are cheap enough though, give Andrew Page in Hull a call, they should have some.

If using the cheaper Torx , this could be your problem...i tried with them and had all sorts of trouble.Got a better set off nephew and they came out a lot better. The cheaper ones seem to be a little loose on some things and tend to cause problems.

I ordered a Ribe socket off ebay a couple of weeks ago only to be shot down in flames on here by everyone saying it's a Torx bolt. There seems to be a divided opionion about this.

Mr Haynes might, but not the Rover 75 manual.

The absolute size is Ribe 8, though not everyone believes it.

I have no wish to get involved in any sort of dispute but I have both good quality Torx and Ribe and the Ribe seems a far better and more secure fit. Certainly on this job. It was thanks to this forum that I went out and bought Ribe last year.

Yes. It was the same advice that led me to buying mine. I do agree the Torx heads are a loose fit. Each to their own I guess.
