Help!

I have just tapped the pink wire into the green/brown wire that I found running up from behind the cup holder, using a scotchlok, as picture below:

Now I have the reversing camera working a treat, but that is it.
None of the other functions of the DD works.

It will not respond to any buttons, even the on/off and dvd eject button.

I have tried disconnecting the battery for an hour, to see if it would re-set it, but no joy.

Any ideas, guys?

Not had that myself? So when you put it in reverse it switches and works as it should?

Only thing I can suggest is a factory reset of the device but first send Coolcat a message and see if he has come across this issue before.

Hi guys,

I may be mistaken but that looks like the wrong wire
The reverse wire is a much more natural coloured brown and green.
Take a look at the wire coming from the reverse lights at the rear of the car and you will see the correct wire colour.
I think what you have laboured to connect is a permanant 12 volt feed and that's why the head unit will not stop displaying the camera as it is receiving a 12 volt trigger that does not switch off when reversed gear is disengaged

It looks the right shade to me, only way to know is to pull the grey header plug up and check. As I had spare pins I hooked mine directly into the header.

Looks brighter to me although that could be the photo.
The other thing to do to tell is to use a volt meter or put a bulb on it and see if it live without the car being in reverse.
If so it is the wrong wire

It is best to use a volt meter or bulb to check, I looked through my wiring diagram and haven't found another green/brown wire yet doesn't meen there isn't one as I said I usually go directly into the header to save patching in.

Edit: Yes it's the wrong one, there is a green/brown permanent live going into the atc controls, you really need to get the header out from behind the cup holder.

Thanks guys, I have had a look at the reversing light cluster and the green is pretty much the same, but the brown looks a lighter shade.

I can't see any like that behind the dash, but it is getting pretty dark out there.

I will have another look tomorrow.

You may have to take the whole ashtray unit out the headers can sometimes be quite far down. There are 2 headers one for the illumination red/white and one for reverse green/brown. I don't know why but the same color is used for the atc permanent live that's why your having the problems.

Wait I'm an idiot the reverse header is in the passenger footwell, I had to take out the glovebox just on the left of the glovebox hole there are some headers taped to the loom its one of those

Use the wire duotone has pointed out.
