Default Under bonnet fuel pump upgrade diesel

Good evening as alot of you already know the fuel pumps on the diesels are bit rubbish in all honesty so after some research and test runs i think i have found a fix once the in tank pump goes the under bonnet pump cannot take the extra strain and shortly fails too so i thought why not get a pump that is capable of supplying the fuel regardless of the in tank pump working or not.
i opted for a pump that is capable of supplying 255 liters per hour more than twice the standard will also run a car up to 500bhp and is strong enough to pull the fuel from the tank even if the in tank pump fails. AND...... Its alot cheaper than a standard pump.
The only modification you need to do is buy a 8mm to 18mm reducer to go inside the original fuel hose and a small piece of 17mm fuel hose to attach the reducer to the new pump.
The new pump comes with the electrical connections so just a case of cutting the connection off and crimping the new ones on.
I have attached some pictures of mine and will soon post links to all the parts you will need hope this helps and is a final fix.

Now this is a VERY worth while "mod/fix"
Looking forward to hearing about test results.
When can we expect these results?
What will be the total cost to get this "mod/fix" done?

You did not say what the pump is usually for or what it cost or where to purchase, unless I missed it.
When you come back with report, can you let us know if your "in tank pump" is working or not please?
Thanks.
Ken.

I too would be interested, as I think dad's car is developing a pump issue.

Default Parts list and test results

Sorry i missed a few bits out of the thread last night it was late
In regards to tests i have had the pump on over a month now and all is fine. my in tank pump was working completely fine but it has been disconnected for the past month just to make sure this new pump is able to do its job and solve this problem for good.
Here are a few links to what you will need.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255LPH-Ext...item256d7bb988

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bosch-044-...item257b756b7f

An 8mm to 18mm hose reducer ( i will be fitting this sometime next week as i had to make something for it last time as i could not find one so bare with me)

10cm of 17mm fuel hose

15cm of double sided foam tape this will go between the pump and the orriginal bracket just so its not metal on metal

Im yet to run it that low but i cant imagine it being a problem as it would still draw from the tank as if the in tank pump was working i dont live to close to fuel stations to try that one
