ZT 190+ Comm No 468 - Anyone save it ? **NOW SAVED**
Recently been offered a ZT by a friend of a friend for repairs or spares, so went to have a look today.
Turns out it's quite an early commission number (000468) and is bodily very straight for a 13 year old, so thought it might be worthwhile mentioning it here in the hope of someone doing the repairs and putting it back on the road ? All info is given in good faith, but it's obviously up to any perspective buyer to confirm all details direct with the owner before deciding. Anyone interested in saving it, please message me and I'll pass on the owners contact number. So, to the best of my knowledge: Started life with MG Rover, before being sold by SMC Slough to the current keeper at approx 14 months old (so just a 2 owner car). Has MOT to December (I think ?), both keys although remote operation not working, reasonable service history and no body damage as far as I can remember. Has been taken off the road as garage has advised that the cambelt tensioner/idler is rattling and likely to fail soon. It has also had lack of power, even after having a new VIS inlet thingy and ECU fitted by a main dealer, so there's possibly another fault somewhere ? Alcantara interior (fronts worn), Xenons (milky), alloys corroded, no radio, suspension is original (not checked for corrosion). Bodily very tidy and couldn't see any obvious rust externally. Slight bit of colour fading in places and minor trim peeling, but generally a credit to it's owner who is looking for £350 or near offer. Car is located near Newton Abbot in Devon and would probably need trailering away (safest option, due to the cambelt noise). Anything else, please just ask 2015-04-29 10.08.02.jpg 2015-04-29 10.09.16.jpg 2015-04-29 10.09.50.jpg 2015-04-29 10.10.21.jpg 2015-04-29 10.13.33.jpg

I hope someone can take this on. The early ZTs feel so much better made than the later cars. If it's a rot-free shell, it's definitely worthwhile.

Sadly with a dying engine and located in Devon its too far for most people including me. Transport costs alone would kill it never mind the cost of anew engine and other work.
You cant save them all.

How are we doing on this one guys ? In my opinion (which is often completely wrong... ), it really is far too tidy to scrap.
Anyone gonna buy it and put it back on the road ?? Real shame to see it go to the crusher.
