V6 coil bolts query
Can anyone tell me if the coils on the front bank of the V6 are earthed to the engine via the bolts that attach them to the engine casing? One of my fixing bolts is stripped and the coil is held in place with a non-standard bolt - its a bit loose and I'm experiencing rough running/misfiring. Thanks.

It should be fine, I have seen cars with the coil securing bolts missing and the engines ran well.

Many thanks.
Now to try and identify where the misfire is coming from!! Should I try replacing the coils/plugs first, or is there a common cause of misfire on the V6? |

Its usually a failing coil pack.

Have ordered new coils and plugs from DMGRS. Car is barely run in with less than 40k miles but at 15 years old it'll do no harm to replace coils. Hope this solves the problem!!

Bit of work with a helicoil kit should have the fixing as good as new.
