I agree, I was just pointing out that if the car was running when it conked-out it wouldn't be the Cam Sensor, more likely the Crank.... (If a Sensor at all).

Bill I know you were just point out it could be the cam sensor, I was pointing out a crank sensor failure is highly unlikely. Something the OP can check is the plenum as the ECU might have got damp, although it's the diesel ECU that give trouble when wet.

Rather than guessing at what's gone wrong, I would suggest that you get yourself to the nearest T4 owner for a diagnosis!

Hi.thanks for all your suggestions, some I will certainly check. The engine is a 2.5 litre petrol .launch car that has done nearly 100,00 miles, with no faults ,and regularly maintained, this year, fitted new manifold and throttle control
and radiator,as for the T4 my garage has one and the car is checked every time it goes in for any problem,as I said origionaly I have had this car some 12.5 years,so I do know my way around it,but this is a total mystery to me,hence the thread.

I've had at least two KV6's with a faulty crank sensor & giving the symptoms the OP is having. As i've said in my earlier post, no fault codes shown & I had to scope them to find the problem. I've had several other makes with faulty crank & cam sensors too without logging a fault code. I agree with what you're saying in that you would expect it to show a code though. |
