Default NI / ROI day to the National Museum of transport Ireland (dublin)

Saturday 6th may 2017

Event details on Facebook

A private tour through one of Irelands isolated collections of Passenger, Commercial, Fire & Emergency, Military and Utility vehicles. More than a century separates the oldest of the 170 exhibits (1883) from the newest, recording the Golden Age of commercial vehicles.

The visit is 100% free, however a small donation from each person(s) attending is a necessity to join us on the day. Rover and MG owners ONLY on the day please. All confirmations will be through myself.

There is a good parking area for all our cars. There is no climbing
stairs required. There is partial access for wheelchairs. So everyone of all ages can attend without concern.

We must strictly be at the facility at 2pm to begin the tour, should you be late you will miss out.

Information about the Museum.

Many are by extinct makers, several are rare or unique, and some are sole survivors of once well known types. The main exhibits are backed by a display of small artefacts and photographs. You will be astonished at the richness and scope of this heritage fleet and its uncanny ability to bring the past back to life.

The exact location on google maps also.

Convoys will be arranged closer to the date from both North and South and information will be posted here also.

Meeting points and times as follows, be warned should you be late due to the nature of the planned event we can not wait on you and you will have to catch up at your own accord. Should you arrive late for the tour you will undoubtedly miss a significant chunk. The museum is only open from 2pm to 5pm!

Also, I wish to remind that EVERYONE must give a donation on the day to the Museum as it receives zero funding and the staff are voluntary.

NI - Sprucefield McDonalds

Departing 11am sharp, recommend you arrive early should you wish to eat / use facilities.

Convoy will then proceed towards Dublin at national speed limit, don't forget your euro's for the toll both way.

A single stop at the southbound applegreen just before dublin apirport facility for toilets etc.

Journey time is approx 1 hour 45 mins from Spruce field.

ROI - Topaz @ Clayton Hotel

Departing 13.30 LATEST.

Recommended meeting point before final journey is the Topaz @ The Clayton Hotel, passed the Dublin Airport. It is VERY easy to find.

The address for anyone needing it

1 Cloghran Cottages, Cloghran, Swords, Co. Dublin, Ireland

Finally a google maps link to the Topaz.

The final location is the National Transport Museum itself.

This is approx 15 mins from the Topaz

I have again provided a final google maps below to show exactly where we will end up.
