Traffic master TMC
I fitted a traffic master module and rover blue tooth kit to my car last year however I am thinking about buying one of radio guys DDs to replace my highline. If i do this I know I can remove the blootooth kit but can I also remove the traffic master module i.e. I will I still get the traffic master messages I get now but on the DD or is TMC something completely different ?

Trafficmaster is a standalone module which displays through the message centre on the instrument panel. Fitting a DD shouldn't affect it at all as the two systems are completely separate.

TMC (Traffic Message System) is a broadcast radio system - I understand it uses the Classic FM frequency.
Trafficmaster is a receiver for roadside transmitters, a completely different system. |

TM is very local, only covers the major roads and only for a short distance ahead. TMC covers the entire country, all of the roads and the information provided by which, enables the Satnav to route around any problems. As soon as you fire the system up, it grabs data for the entire country, which it then feeds into its maps. TA is the third system, which simply retunes your radio to a local FM channel when they start transmitting Traffic Announcements - a very manual system.
