Default My replacement Android is here, Installed, Help???

I got my Android DD today, this one replaced the faulty on i got last year (cheers)ean. any way, all installed and seems so be working ok.
I really can't bring my self to trawl thru that monumental thread.

my new unit came with a few differences to the faulty one, i have 2 memory card lots, one says nav and the other is for media.

So, what are the sat nav options available.

also mine says BMW on boot up, has any one managed to change the start logo

2 card slots amd BMW start up screen??? Is this an updated version Sean has sent you?
Mine shows Dynavin on start up on both sides.
For Sat Nav I am using Co Pilot (pm Eamonn for this) you can also download the premium version from the market (£25) plus £10/year for TMC. I have not tried the IGO version yet as it got a bit complicated setting it up. Personally I like Google maps but you need a data connection for this, tether your mobile to the unit for internet connection. Better still for downloading connect to a wifi spot if you can. Enjoy as it is a great bit of kit

If you have time sit down with a cuppa and read the thread to find out more

You dont need internet to run it. It runs from an app and then you have to download about 260mb of data and away she goes All the data goes on the SD card.

the start up logo hasnt been sorted yet, but to change it from bmw, go into auxillary and press 9 on the remote. You will see a list of options you can look into, the start up screen only shows; bmw, dynavin and i think its skoda and golf. Which makes me think that there could be a way for some techy to come up with some way of changing it like they did with the d/d.

Those files could be held in memory somewhere on the unit..

If you were able to navigate through the folders and insert a JPEG or BMP at the right resolution, maybe you can select that ?..

Just a guess really, I have played with the Androids at all !!

I "stiumbled" on this setting today lol, also if you go into the same menu, you can calibrate the whole system by pressing 7 ? while in Aux.

My unit wont connect to my house wifi and i havent figured out how to tether my Blackberry mobile to it yet so hwo would i update the satnav files for co pilot and igo 8 via sd card, or would i need to be on the net to do it.
