Selling 75 Connie 2.5 Midnight blue 2001 **SOLD**
Dear All,
I've decided to let the car go after umming and ahhing and toing and froing. I know I said I was going to try and complete the work myself but with work being manic at the moment and the small occasion of getting married in 4 weeks it is with a heavy heart that I have decided that maybe I should let her go. I also think the work that needs doing is just a little bit more than I could take on. This is the current run down on her: She is a 2001 'Y' reg Midnight blue Connoisseur 2.5 V6. She currently has roughly 125,000 miles on the clock. All belts have been replaced at 86,000 miles. The engine still drives lovely and the interior is the walnut finish and cream leather interior which is in excellent condition. Last year she was fitted with 4 new tyres on her. She has a few age related bumps and scrapes but nothing very noticeable. When she is washed and polished she looks absolutely knock out. The midnight blue was always the winner I thought in the looks category! Now the bad bits. She recently failed the MOT and I had decided that I was going to give it a bash at repairing her myself as I believed it wouldn't be cost effective unless you were to complete the labour yourself. She failed on the following: 1.) Nearside registration lamp not working, 2.) Offside front position lamp not working, 3.) Offside front coil spring incomplete **(I have bought the brand new part) 4.) Nearside front anti-rollbar linkage ball joint dust cover excessively damaged so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt **(I have bought the brand new part) 5.) Offside front anti-rollbar linkage ball joint dust cover excessively damaged so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt **(I have brought the brand new part) 6.) Rear nearside door not opening from outside (does from inside) 7.) Drivers door handle not on inside. (It does open it just needs fitting. I have the handle still in the vehicle.) So there it is. If somebody would like to take her as a project then please feel free to drop me an e-mail or PM me. Looking for £400 ono. I would love to see her go to a good home. The missus and I have really enjoyed the car but I think it's time for her and us to move on. (The car that is, hee, hee!) Thanks for listening, Steve. P.S I've tried to upload all the pictures I have of her, hope it works! Last edited by UpCheckOneTwo; 12th May 2012 at 14:08.. Reason: Adding photo's |

That is incredibly cheap and can't believe no one has bitten your hand off yet ! I have exactly the same car in the same colour same year.
Good luck and wish I had the space as I said that is a bargain !

Cheers Stu,
I thought so aswell. Anyhow tonight she was taken by a forum member, who I'm confident will bring her back to her former glory. Thanks to the guys who did PM me. Steve. |

Good to meet you tonight Steve.
Got her home . . with just a little hiccup, but all seems ok now. Will get your grill badge back to you as soon as I can. Ben |

Well, finally got her in for MOT today.
Unfortunately she failed, but had worried it would be worse. No advisories, failed on . . . . . handbrake efficiency. I fitted a welded compensator, so hopefully just need to tweek the adjustment. Just considering whether to go out in the dark and rain to get it sorted for tomorrow. Power steering pump on route from Sean too. Last edited by Typhoon190; 15th October 2012 at 17:39.. |
