Default Thunderstorm

I drove through water running downhill, that was up to the front bumper on my van, this afternoon.I was travelling with the flow of water, but It was a bit scary.
Never seen the likes of this before, seen heavy flooding, but not rivers running down a road.

A few july's ago in Croydon we had an amazing downpour which actually filled a nearby subway completely. I would not have tried it but it was possible to swim underneath the water under the roundabout. I had a picture on my old phone but I think it's gone now.

Well that was just the maddest thing.....................now having grown up in Morpeth (notorious for flooding) I'm well acquainted with seeing water everywhere but that was the first time I've ever experienced proper "Flash" flooding, I was happily working away in the workshop & looked out of the west doors to see a huge blackness in the distance, next thing the whole place was in darkness & then the water came. Just then the phone rang & after a 5 min conversation I turned round to see a tidal wave entering our workshop & within 10 mins the inspection pits were half full, bearing in mind they're about 5ft deep, 45-50ft long & there's 3 of them, it was like niagra running over the edge even our waste oil tank (250 gallons) which lives down there was floating

I was at the hospital in newcastle yesterday, and the roads are being dug up here and there so decided to go back home the back roads way, what a massive mistake that was lol,ive never seen anything like it, my wipers were flat out and made no difference, driving through rivers which 5 minutes before hand were roads, all of which came from knowhere, I think we covered an extra 15-20 miles just to find a safe way home,
