Default Insane postage cost.

I saw a nice looking early 75 boot plinth on ebay for a reasonable cost. As international postage wasn't offered I thought I would ask for a quote to send it here to Australia.
The response was apologetic. "They want £150.00 to send it. Crazy for such a small item".
A tad over the top don't you think?

I used to build custom lightsabers with a Polly c blade attached it never cost more than £20-£30 to send international first class and signed for for a package about 4ft (give or take) long.

Parts are so very rare here. It's cheaper to buy internationally in almost all cases. Even heavy, bulky items are cheaper to buy overseas than locally.
Bah, now I sound like I'm whining. Pardon me

Ah! I wouldn't have thought of that. Not lateral enough it would seem.
Thank you for that suggestion

Yes, it is!
We sent our daughter a 'Goody-Box' for her birthday to Agnes Water last year, (which is a bit more around the houses than Melbourne!) it was quite sizeable, and I would say about the same weight as a Plinth. If I remember correctly it cost about £34.00 to send.
