820 Sterling Coupe
I hope it's regarded OK to post something here that isn't a 75 but which might appeal to fellow 'Roverphiles'. An impulse buy means I'm forced to sell my trusty Rover 820 Sterling Coupe for no reason other than the fact I can't afford to run the four cars I'll now have!
It's a 1997 P reg, Cayman Blue, manual with 96,000 miles. I've had the car for over 3 years, sourced it via a friend from MG Rover Direct in Longbridge in 2004. It comes with a full and complete service history and lots of receipts, the latest being a full service and cambelt change at my local ex-Rover dealer last November for £391. As with all my cars, maintained regardless of cost! I've been using it as a 2nd car since the arrival of the 75 a year ago, so since the last service it's barely covered any mileage. I'm asking £1350 which I think is fair given it's probably one of the better ones and all the big bills are already paid. This is all a bit sad really, the car's where I was when I first learned about the end of MG Rover in 2005. I'd be heartbroken if it fell into the wrong hands, over-sentimental as I am! Picture below is an old one, but there's a much more detailed set I took last summer HERE. |

Very nice pics!!!
We used to own a Nightfire T Reg Coupe 2.5 KV6 Auto The Coupe I thought was of a far superior Build quality compared to the 800 saloons & fastbacks. (as if it were built by a totally different team???) Wish Rover would have continued the lovely grey leather interior theme in the 75 Range. Someone will buy yours I'm sure. (nice brolly too)

It's not looking so shiny at the moment after all the rain, but it does look a million dollars after a wash & brush up. You're right about the quality too, Jules. Body feels noticeably stiffer than either of the R17 saloons I owned before it. If only I could afford to put it away in dry storage for a few years. Probably wouldn't do it any good, mind |

I had a V reg 2.5 KV6 Sterling Coupe which I loved and yes, IIRC they were all built on a separate line to the "normal" 800s, I believe they were only built to order and virtually handmade. I'd love another but I'm in the same position as you and one car would have to go, either that or I get a divorce

That's a lovely car for the money and looks very well looked after. Only thing I'm not keen on is all the straight lines? Why did Rover do this?

Tell you something though - the more I look at those fantastic pics the more I love that car - it's awesome. If i had a few spare quid I would buy it as a second weekend ride!
