Screws for wheel arch liner
Im doing some refurbishments on the 2001 con se manual, and removed the front wheel arch liner to wax behind it and generally check things out.
14 years of road salt and water have taken their toll on the screws around the edges of the liner where they go around the place where mudflaps would go. They are a funny size with a built in washer, so went looking for replacements, and saw these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-SELF-TA...item5d46f991b4 Will give them a try. |

May be prudent to renew the 'spire' nuts (I think they're called) too. You can buy them with screws in packs from hardware stores. As said, stainless steel ones are the bees knees

I found everything behind the arch liner to be in pretty good condition, just a few bits of rust on the edges of the panels where they are welded together, but i painted it with locktite rust convertor, and then sprayed the area with dinitrol underbody wax. |
