Default Saved this one from scrappies - couple queries

Hi all

Always had a soft spot for Rover cars and had plenty but never a 75/ZT so when this came up locally with a not too bad fail sheet I had to have a go, MG ZT CDTi in xpower grey, only 90K. Went beyond the fail sheet. Treated and painted subframes and rear lower arms. Then changed oil and then the PCV, air, fuel and oil filters. Then front lower arms, inner steering arms, track rod ends and anti roll bar links. Freed up the brakes as car had been sitting a while and got a new MOT on it. I got the car for a third what they were asking as clutch pedal is really high (couple hundred so bargain) and I bought it knowing might be doing clutch but thats fine, done loads others and got well equipped garage and a 2 post ramp so happy to tackle it. Had loads help reading the forums so want to thank all, great community.

Clutch I think is just on the verge of starting to slip but I will probably drive it till gets worse. I have seen, on ebay, a complete clutch kits with slave cylinder and also amazingly enough for price (about £160) a solid flywheel. However I wanted to ask what the general consensus is with the flywheels, is it replace everytime with genuine dual mass. Or is it generally alright and can just change clutch and cylinder and forget about it or go solid replacement. Also £160 does sound cheap alright.

Next query, stereo in it is a cheat single DIN thing with no bluetooth or anything, whats best cheapish route to have hands free and play tunes from phone.

Panels - Paintwork on boot and rear passenger door isn't great and lip spoiler on boot little cracked, door got a dent, any xpower grey car currently breaking, i also need the kick panel down at drivers right foot as by boot switch is just hanging as panel missing.

Also I have a rumble that sounds like wheel bearing but doesn't change note or volume when negoitaiting corners in either direction so not sure. Is there any common culprits?

Also. whats usual story with intermittant ABS and can feel it activating occasionally through brake pedal when not actually required, wheel sensor usually?

Also did the thermostat mod, excellent, took manifold of but not too bad a job, great to finally get some heat going, lol

Many thanks, got a few photos I was going to stick up but its looking for link, take it we cant just paste pics into posts?

you can jst post photoes, when you reply go to Advanced and look for a paper clip, this will allow you to navigate to where the photo is stored and upload it. Make sure it is not to big in dimension or byte size

I'm about to fit a double din unit, but for the last 10 or so years I've had a single DIN Sony MEX-N5100BT, which has an external microphone for the phone, and does bluetooth streaming from it. A lot of the stereos do this, and you can get them cheap.

I've had both my front sensors fail over the years - garage replaced them no problem, you can get them cheap from DMGRS or elsewhere. Get yourself TOAF and find out what's at fault

Easiest (and free) way to resize a photo is using Paint.net. Wonderful little app for your PC.

Doesn't work on strange things like Macs or Linux.

Or alternatively using a hosting site like Imgur and you can just post the link from there into your thread and no need to worry about manually resizing the image. Huge thumbnail size seems to be a good fit for here.

Is that an Erisin head unit?

I'm about to fit one (second attempt) and always interested in hearing others' experiences...
