Reconditioned alternator
Alternator died on me last night, in the dark, in the rain, in central London. RAC towed us home.
Have been offered reconditioned alternator by firm in West Lancs for £115, inc VAT and delivery. SMC and Rimmers don't seem to have any in stock. Is this a good price? Any advice appreciated - as always.

Happened to me last August. I have a diesel and I got a new Alternator for £120.00 but that was through a neighbor who owns a garage. If it helps, I did a 'How to' for replacing it and it's been published in the 'How to' Forum. Paul

Thanks, chaps. Very helpful.
It's a diesel so the £55 job won't fly, Zeb. If it takes two people to change a light bulb I'm the one holding the ladder so thanks for the tip PaulPJ but it would be beyond me. Looks as if a new one fitted by my local garage might be the best bet, 2diesels, if they can get one for that sort of price. Thanks again.
