Can a parking sensor be by passed?

Again my parking sensors are giving a continuous bleep.
Is it possible to by pass a parking sensor and if so how?

I have tried checking for broken wires from ecu to plug under bumper, disconnected plugs and refitted, changed ecu but for an untested one.

I'd like to try bypassing each parking sensor to see if there is one that's giving me a problem. They all give a clicking sound.

I have not the time at the moment but I will remove the bumper to see if there is anything I can find that's causing a problem.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but have you checked the sensors themselves? Ignition on, select reverse, ear against the sensor and you should hear it click.

yes tried that and they all give a clicking sound.
I was wondering if a sensor could stick in the "detected an obstacle mode"

Just because they're clicking doesn't mean they're working ;)

They can be clicking but not picking up properly causing the parking sensor ECU to give the dreaded continuous beep.

On T4 it's easy to see which one isn't working on live data by walking past each sensor at the same distance and noting the readings. Sometimes it's more than one ;)

Without T4 the only option is to get hold of a couple of new or known working sensors and fix it by a process of elimination.

Ian what does the surface of each sensor look like?
Any corroision or lifting of the paint can give you a continuous beep. Ended up rubbing down mine and repainting them.

Have you checked the wiring loom?? Mine was playing up since i bought the car 2 years ago (despite the sensors seeming to be ok) but i changed the loom and now it works perfectly. :)

smudge, which part did you change?
I've tested from the plug under the bumper to the ecu, that all seemed ok

How dose the next part of the loom going to the sensors fit to the sensors, is there a connection at each sensor?
