Question heater

my 1999 75 diesel heater is playing up, passenger side cold with temp set the same as drivers side, but drivers side ok

Have a read here about the heater matrix - it is the most likely culprit.

Presumably the KV6 matrix could be blocked from previous head gasket troubles.........can't imagine this to be the same scenario with jimmyjoes's CDT heater as the water system in the M47 engine usually stays spotless throughout its life.

Another possibility is to check the motorized valves that operate the air blending flaps. They can all be heard whirring away when the ignition is turned off.(not sure how many motors there are in total)

Have run A/C diags with no error messages, would they identify issues with blending valves

iirc it won't. I'll dig out the list of what the error codes refer to and post it later.

Jules,

As far as I remember the problem comes from the system design and isn't caused by head gasket issues, which in any case are not common on the KV6 (and before anyone pops in to challenge, I do know they have happened )
