Default Drain petrol tank

I need to drain the petrol tank on my Rover 75 Connoisseur 2004 model. It's a 1796cc. I've tried to syphon but there's an antitheft device. Is there an easy way to do this?

cheers and merry boxing day

Lift up the base of the back seat and remove one of the fuel pumps so you can gain access to the tank and syphon any fuel out

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. I've got the seat base up (which was a complete pain in the proverbials) and that exposed a round cover held on by 4 bolts. That came off easily which revealed the petrol tank and what I'm assuming is the petrol pump. It's not obvious how that comes off unless I'm looking at the wrong thing.

Any more advice will be very helpful.

You turn the top anti-clockwise.

You can use a blunt onject and tap it round using the ridges.

Just be careful not to break the plastic.

You could always put a constant 12v connection to the pump and connect a pipe to the feed under the bonnet to drain the fuel into.

This tells you HowTo get the rear seat out (and refit it) the easy way: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=9068

This tells you HowTo access the tank (via the filter module in this example). http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=9108

Which ever module you access, don't lift it any more than necessary to get your syphon tube into the fuel. If you pull too far, there could be problems getting it all back.

TIP: Unless there is one already, fit the FOC while you're in there.

EDIT: Just remembered, you must be a subscriber. Worth a tenner?
