My pal in his brand new recent style Jaguar XKR ( Gun metal grey, private plate £68,000 IIRC) and I went to see a Hearts European match (I know flyer....it was to see footie at Murrayfield!) Itwas chucking it down. Almost monsoon like. Anyway, I says that we had better park close. End up going down road to staff/players car park over little bridge. We get stopped by very wet security guard and asked what colour of parking pass we have. Quick as a flash I lean over and tell him...'it's OK mate, we don't need one!' Guy says 'on you go then' Derek by this time is trying not to laugh as we park 3 cars away from main entrance!

Moral being, go in your mates car...I would have been told to feck off!

Absolutely true!

'Twas a while ago. They got through to group stage of UEFA Cup. Were not allowed to use Tyncastle as it failed a UEFA inspection. Mind you they got grubbed. That night Craig Gordon played out of his skin. One of the best goalkeeping displays. Shame his career hit the skids.
After buying tickets for that online, I get their sales pitch every week. Despite cancelling several times!

Real reason for going was to experience footie at Murrayfield. Brilliant venue.
And ......parking right at the door too!

Your right that was one of Craig's finest moments. It makes me proud to think of what he achieved as a goalkeeper, a dream I also had but was nowhere near good enough. Its just a shame that Sunderland killed his career by making him play injured. Anyways back on topic!
