steering clonk after clutch change
After changing the clutch in my zt diesel it has developed a noise when steering left to right and vice versa. There is a noise and something physically can catching, almost like something is trapped. It actually jams the wheel for a split second when steering. The noise sounds like it's coming from the steering column but I can't be sure. It's baffling me. Anyone have an idea?

Jack the front end up and then you can move the front wheels by hand and at the same time watch for anything catching.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look. It's notchy tho almost as if something is trapped in the rack teeth? Could we have damaged the rack when lowering the sub frame?

Drove it today and it appears to have stopped it. I wonder if it was the drive shafts bedding in after removal?

Check the universal joint at the bottom of the steering column, underneath the big rubber grommet in the floor.
When I did my clutch, the universal joint was catching on the floor pan, not sure how it why, but all sorted now. Make sure you check why, in case out is not solved - the last thing you want is something catching and locking the steering when you need to go around a corner.
