Perhaps error caused by mismatch of new ECU fitted and not fitting matching LSM?

New ECU was coded with VIN number using T4 so should match existing LSM. So I have my doubts that was the issue.. I suspect Keith may be onto something with the towing theory!

Hi Guys. Just got in after a meeting...... Taken me a bit of time to get my head around all of these latest posts...

Les (SMC) Thank you very much for your kind offer - I may need to take you up on that, after a bit more investigation. Will PM as requested later. THANK YOU.

The main problem I've got, not being very mechanically minded (and with RSI problems in my hands) is where to take her to get these glitches sorted. I WILL NEVER TRUST ANY OF THE SO CALLED EXPERTS that exist in this part of the country again !!

Starting on the 11th August I've a week off, so I'll have to try and find someone to do the necessary......... Have a little bit of emergency funding left and the Car's running so will travel  Coventry's a bit far, but if needs be.......

First of all the "Err" message appears in trip indicator area to the left of the main mileage indicator. When I switch off the trip mileage seems to be under the Err message.

Not had time to examine the CD changer yet.

I don't have a 99999 syndrome. Main mileometer seems fine.

What's an LSM?

As far as I know the car has not been towed, except on and off the transporters. Mind you, the amount of times that has happened....... ?

Another thing that has come to light is that on the central locking, the front passenger door no longer works on the central locking system.
I can hear the actuator thingy working, but the door stays in either the locked or unlocked position.

I've only done about thirty miles in her but the mpg seems to have fallen drastically to about 28 mpg.......maybe this could be part of the "Err" problem?

Thank you all for your input, I'll try and catch up with stuff on the weekend (Not that I'll have much time between work and running a carnival on the Saturday).

It's the silly season for me.. Carnival, Medieval Day, and a River & Food Festival to do.

Right time to find the fob program thread.........

Ok that is a different sort of Err message might even clear if you disconnect the battery for a few minute!

Anyway not so serious, take time to get reaquainted with the car again!

Looked at a few threads and have already decided to try that  Will let you know.

The only thing is that after all of this I am almost scared to try something or anything in case it fouls it all up again?!?

Check if the Experts havn't left the MAF sensor disconnected.
28 MPG is what ours does if disconnected
