Hi.
I was in a 45 on Monday, Had all the goodies with the 1.8 engine. I was more than surprised, a very nice car and looks a peach to work on. Neighbour had just bought it 50,000 miles from new with FSH and every receipt etc for £400 a real bargain.

I had the older 400 1.6.
The face lift to the 45 was a huge improvement IMO but nevertheless I did like the 400. Toured Scotland doing around 1500 miles with 4 up plus luggage much of the way. Very comfortable though needed coaxing a bit with 4 up on hills! I sold it to an old guy and just before he came to pick it up it started to clunk when engaging reverse. He wasn't bothered and I presume it went okay as I didn't hear from him again Never was sure what the clunk was?

Quick side note, you couldn't get cruise on the 1.8 45 so it looks like you do have every option available.
I loved my 45s and ZSs over the years - and my very first Rover was a 1998 1.6 400.

Sorry for keeping this thread alive ( because it is not rover 75 related ) but I'm stuck. I have removed the door card and was expecting to be able to remove the center part of it so I can glue the material back on; surprise...its made out of one single piece. How can I fix this problem?
Second one, after 20 min of driving, the clutch pedal makes an ugly noise and the pedal is not smooth anymore, it squeaks really loud. Which part is responsible for this?

Door cards now repaired, fabric replaced with leather ; From a mechanical point of view, the car is fully serviced. It only needs bumpers respray, polish & voila

I`m done fixing the car . Since I`ve bought it, I did the following :
*All engine belts + pulleys + belt tensioners + waterpump + thermostat *Engine oil + filters *Brake pads + brake shoes *Front + rear shock absorbers *Replaced fabric material from door cards with leather *Resprayed front bumper, rear bumper and rear-left panel *Brand new summer tyres to match the brand new winter tyres the car had *Headlights polish *Osram Night Breaker bulbs *Clutch cylinder still to come, already ordered *Looking for puma black OEM mats *Order made for the plastic piece that holds the bumper to the fender She was not prepared for photos, I went shopping with my gf and after many hours of shopping ( girls... ) my car was alone in that area in the parking lot http://postimg.org/gallery/1w7v9s8cy/
