OEM Walnut Gear Knob (early style)

I bought this last week from a fellow member - original ad & pictures here

Unfortunately, although it is in lovely condition, it's just not right for what I need. I'm restoring a cowley car for an elderly relative, I'm trying to make it look factory new where possible. Where this knob has become slightly lighter over the years it doesn't look new, still resplendent, but it's really not dark enough for what I need.

It's from a mark 1, it can be fitted to a mark 2 but is slightly looser on the mark 2 shaft so a bit of fettling to make it snug would probably be required.

I paid £85 for it, I think that was at the upper end of it's value, I'll take £65 delivered

This knob is really quite light - I hadn't realised just how light it was until I saw it next to a ppd dash.

There's been some discussion of it and some additional pictures here

I don't want to mislead/dissapoint anybody so please bear in mind the fading and, if planning on restoring it, what that will cost you before making an offer.

I'm very much writing this one off as a loss, so if anybody feels they have a use for it I'm open to offers.

If it doesn't sell at that it's going in my parts drawer where it'll just become even rarer & even more valuable
