Default Eml

Hi All
My eml light is not coming on when I turn on the ignition. I sent the IPK panel to Rick for de-lining and he bench tested the eml while he's got it.
The bulb lights up fine on bench test, but not in the car.
Any ideas/solution gratefully received.
Cheers

If you wish to test in car so to speak Geoff, unplug the sensor wiring attached to the fuel filter head.........on early diesels this is about the only thing that will cause the MIL lamp to illuminate

Mine is a 2002 52 plate - does this qualify as an early diesel?
Thanks

Yes it sure does.

You can also check it using the IPK test - the only problem with that is some of the other alarms don't light up during the test, which can be a cause for alarm if you don't know about them.

As Brian mentioned, the EML doesn't do a lot, and you can pass an MOT with it lit, so as the old advert used to say; Relax it's a Rover!
