Just out of interest what device are you using for your WiFi hot spot? If it's android what version software is installed?

I'm using my home wifi which is Virginmedia 100mb and have an extender into my garage where signal shows excellent. As regards the Android version I assume it is 4.4 as the original spec of the Star unit.
