Help req
If in wrong section can you move it
My life is pretty NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- at moment living in my car , it has started to have the battery light on below 1000 revs sometimes its flashes once quick sometimes its on all time even flashes once and thats it ,its a 2.0 diesel im not mechanical minded so its getting me very stressed I'm in lincoln if there's anyone who can help or advice whats wrong .I haven't much data left but you can txt me on 07701338945 many thanks Paul |

Just had a quick look online, £50 for a used one seems the average.

Cost of fitting in a garage will depend on what their hourly rate is.
A local forum member who knows what they're doing would be cheaper I suspect.

Also worth checking to see if there is an obvious cause for the unit to fail - possibly PAS hose or leak from the PAS pump gasket that joins the two halves together that lives just above the alternator, oil ingress is a killer of the alternators on these. Well worth checking this out prior to having repairs carried out rather than ignore it as the costs will be significantly greater for 2 alternators and one PAS pump ETC.
