I have a nail gun in my shed, it belongs to a friend of mine whom is a carpenter he came round about 12 years ago when i was doing my decking, he said i have a nail gun in the van you can borrow it, no thank you i said i am screwing all the planks, i will leave it with you just in case you do need it.
12 years on and its still in the shed i have not seen or heard from him since

Screws are not expensive and I always use screws myself.
Nails in wood in outside conditions can frequently become loose due to wind and rain. Much less likely with screws. Also it's quick to modify things that are screwed together rather than to try to tear them apart. |
