1.8 round trip fuel economy
Another 350 mile round trip completed today in 1.8. No problems and 39mpg. Despite it's reputation I do like the little 1.8 for simplicity, ease of maintenance, quick warm up in winter. Nobody would buy it for performance, but perfectly able to keep up with traffic and seems a shame that any might have been be scrapped for sake of a new head gasket.

Yep, I really like the 1.8 K series 75's. Too many have been scrapoped for nothing. All part of this modern throw away society we now live in !

I have the 1.8K in my 45 and the mpg return never ceases to amaze me,although it's a fair bit lighter than a 75.I just wish I could say the same for the 1.8K's in my 1.8T and VVC coupe who are both VERY thirsty by comparison
