https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-55506681 The infection rate won't start to decline and take the pressure off the NHS or move society back towards living a normal life until these selfish idiots and their ilk change their ways. Rather than whingeing like petulant children they should follow the rules and be part of the solution, instead of behaving like morons and being part of the problem.

The problem is that even for well educated folk, it's hard to determine fakery from truth sometimes. I don't trust politicians to tell the truth and a lot of so called science is politicised. We have to be very careful before we dismiss anything. However, when something goes against the consensus narrative we need to know the source and how the writer came to that conclusion. There is absolutely no doubt that Covid 19 is out there and everyone would be wise to follow sensible precautions to mitigate getting it. Hands, face, space and I'd add ventilation and filtration. The non-binary Covid tests are heavily biased to record false positives rather than false negatives for obvious reasons. Covid 19 is revealing how close to capacity our NHS is. I worry the narrative has changed from 'the NHS is underfunded' to 'let's deliberately destroy large parts of the private economy to save the NHS'. The government has a poisoned chalice. Whatever they do will upset someone. I'm not a fan of vaccines, but I've booked my first shot in two weeks. The vaccine is the main hope for the vulnerable in 2021. Well done to those who produced it in record time. Fingers crossed I don't react badly to it, and a massive thank you to those on the front line in the NHS who are working all hours to cope with this as we speak.

My covid journey is not part of a narrative, I'm 55 and just coming through it, if it had killed me then it would rightly be listed as cause of death. This isn't some crackpot conspiracy, it's a real illness that's causing untold damage to the world right now. I don't have the answers but the virus is as real as can be, right now I'm very weak and struggling to lift a small bucket of coal, compare that to my normal ability to lift a KV6 engine and you might understand what this is doing to people like me. It saddens me to say that my son is one of the conspiracy nutters that think it's some kind of mild cold, my weight has hit 13.5 stone and his answer is pea and ham soup. I despair at the way this nonsense is allowed to be given actual space as news. Any crank that doesn't believe this is real needs to catch it and suffer. |
