Idle
Mg zt 1.8 turbo. The idle goes up n down 750-850 its not much but annoying this was happening before i did the head gasket i also changed alot of things. Coils leads lambda sensor plugs boost solenoid vac pipes thermostat and a few other things like iacv tps that ive swapped with known working partsbut still have this irregular idle is there anything ive missed here or i could look at cheers.

The IACV can cause running problems if not set up properly with T4 or another diagnostic tool which can do the job. Same for the TPS I think but not 100% sure.

Thanks for the reply it hasn't been on t4 will need to find someone local to walsall willing to come out to me but the car will be on road next week so could poss travel

Turn the ignition on but don't start the car, press the throttle 5 times. Turn off. Then restart the car, see if that sorts it

Sounds like distorted exhaust valve seats to me, do a compression test next

I'm only in Cheslyn Hay, like 10 minutes away. Once it's on the road give me a shout and I'll plug my T4 in FOC and see what we can do.

Had the car out for its first run and seems ok apart from the temp. Temp gauge takes a while to get to half way so decided to drive with the diagnostic screen on temp and it sits at mid 70s heaters nice and hot it goes up and down a few degree depending on heater setting water levels fine i have fitted a 82 thermostat.
