Rob,
My replacement bushes (from X-Part) slid easily over the original suspension arm (on the bench). Why are you renewing both your arms? Simon

Mot failure on the arms so thought to do the bushes at the same time

Tried various methods and gave up - looked here on the forum and a kind poster mentioned washing up liquid - literally pushed the bush on by hand which I was relieved about because I was concerned about it being pre-stressed if it wasn't aligned exactly.
Which would have of course caused premature failure |

Both at the same time? That's unusual. Did they fail on the outer balljoint?

I found the jack had to be a certain way around to work, upside down no good, i think the internal holes expect the jack to be sat upright. Have a play with the jack would be my suggestion to see which orientation it will work. Also make sure the oil filter socket matches the inner ring of the bush exactly i think i used a 32mm and use loads of fairy lube.

If done correctly this way works its been on a good while without issue but it has to be well lubed and precision required. The oil socket should fit exactly on the inner slip ring of the bush and fit over the arm then no stress on bush rubbers, any other way it will wreck. Perhaps a filing down of the arm might have helped but surely oem parts shouldnt need to be filed to the right size, if they do they are out of spec? If i ever get the current arm split from the subframe i might have to do this again later or tomorow, will be interesting to see how it fits.
