We keep talking about a dog, but I’m not keen to get one until I get my operation on my head and hope to start driving again.

I remember our local chippie owner, in Yorkshire, apologising for only having "chits" but I used to prefer them (with a few "scraps" of course!). That's about 60 years ago and I remember leaning against the mill chimney to keep warm whilst eating them with "me mates". They were always shared around as not all the lads and lasses had the price of a bag of "chippies" at the time!

Hobbies: a couple of members are into trains and I remember one telling me about his train set he built over many years. Ian is a visual train driver and clearly it gives him a lot of enjoyment. I recall Steve Strat is excellent at model making, can’t remember if Bob makes or collects model cars as well. What about getting yourself a second hand DSLR camera and trying photography and doing the post editing on a tablet or laptop. Then there is cooking, also another hobby? Can’t think of anything else at the moment, except anything outdoors is dependent on the weather and how you are feeling, that is if you are well enough to try a new hobby or not. Dogs: We lost a dog a Labrador, a few years ago to a Leopard who killed him one night and all we found remaining of Diesel was one of his paws at the side of a stream in the forest the next day. At the time, he would not stay inside the house at night and he would frequently run away. We think a he was drawn to a female dog across the valley, a heartbreaking loss. After losing Diesel we decided not to get another dog, but we are lucky to have 3 of Jessica’s sisters dogs who visit from her sisters house nearby, they are lovely dogs with a nice temperament: Begorrah the Great Dane, Pimbe the Collie, Rocky the Jack Russel. They have the run of the garden and the forest of 10 acres but at night they are kept in for their own safety since the Leopard incident. |

Today we are hoping to change the solar panels on the roof. We could not do it the other day because one of the cows dropped dead in our small holding and where it dropped, meant it had to be dismembered before it could be moved, which delayed the changing of the solar panels. A piece of trivia: on my 4x4, the drivers side bi-folding wing mirror is not working properly and the driver’s window keeps going up an down erratically, a windscreen nozzle jet is blocked…..other things to repair, there is always something. The weather is 25C and a chance of rain, so can’t complain. What is your week looking like? |

It sounds like you have a busy time ahead for you . I'm not working this morning so I'm going to pop and see Mum after dropping Ros off at work. Mum will be going to see Nan with her Brother late morning. I would like to go but understand the care homes reluctance to have too many different people through their doors whilst Covid and Flu is still a threat. Not a lot else planned this week other than work.

Morning everyone from submerged Cornwall.
Drought? No chance of that. I have a zoom meeting with the “new medical team”, not sure what a new medical team is.

Good morning everyone, dewinterising and getting the caravan ready this week ready for our travels in the spring.
It will seem strange without Georgie as we bought the caravan because we had her and always took her wherever we went, she loved her times away in the caravan. I hope everyone is "On the mend",and normality returns soon

Morning all, Just no end to this heavy rain, It hammered it down against the bedroom window with high winds for most of the night with more to come shortly , Lots of standing water about.
I would have liked to get the last two fence planters down to refill them with fresh compost ready for planting up with flowers but that side of the garden is like a quagmire.
