Default Noise near the compartment next spare tire

I have a Rover 75 Tourer and I started to hear a very loud noise coming from the trunk. I opened this whole area and found that the noise was coming from a small fan inside the box, which I don't know what it's for. I unplugged the fan cable and the noise stopped. Can anyone tell me what the box on the left side is for, which is in the compartment next to the spare tire? thank you in advance for your help

Hello David,

You've unplugged the cooling fan from the video module which drives the LCD sat. nav. & audio system screen. This fan will run each time the car is unlocked and will continue for a few minutes after locking it again.

Plug it back in again and don't worry about it.

Simon
