Gosh darn, jeepers creepers and other expressions of surprise, she's had one "mechanic" instantly diagnose over the phone that's it's a £1000....
Arctic, fancy a job, she really needs this fixing 😞

We're seeing lots of fuel issues with the Diesels lately - and to be honest it's a wide spread between fuel pumps and various sensors / O Rings.
There's not one 'big issue' that seems to cause non-starting, so you'll need to find a mechanic who knows the cars and is happy to spend some time working out where the issue lies. From memory, the last 5 I've helped with have been 1x HP pump (leaking), 1x set of regulator seals (one had broken down), 1x under bonnet pump, 1x in tank pump (Mk2 with no under bonnet pump) and 1x injector with very bad leak back. Good luck!

I'm kinda clad I don't still have mine anymore.... Anyone got a spare heatshield, there's one on the bay of evil, £30, but for some reason postage is £45! Is it an MoT failure now if it's missing? Picking up Sat/Sun hopefully, thanks for all those who jumped in to help
