Turbo rattle???

Hi, I have recently purchased an 03 reg zt cdti + and have noticed a rattle from the engine at around 3000 rpm plus. Sounds like turbo rattle to me but i am far from an expert. Performance seems fine so just wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem and if it does sound like the turbo??? the car has only 56000 miles and has been serviced every 2 years (15000 mile gap between services)???

there is no smoke coming from the exhaust

hi never heard of a turbo rattling whine yes.have you checked your heatshields under the car they have a habit of working loose .well they actually corrode arround the fixings steel and alloy plus road salt is not a good mix might not be this but worth a prod around

I think my 75 has the same noise as it starts at about 3000 rpm and I've put it down to a diesel knock type of noise. Performance isn't affected and it hasn't got any worse but I would certainly be interested to know if it something to be concerned about.
