Just picking up on some of the problems in obtaining the Gates thermostat.

My OE thermostat in my ZT is showing the typical problems, and as it is booked in for a service next week with D and D in Somercotes [Alfreton] I asked them to source the QH item. They had difficulties, and guessed that would be the same for Gates via Rock Auto [even though not far away in Sheffield no phone number listed].

So called in at my local helpful motor factor.Asked for QH item, but since they've been taken over by Klavius?, factor has stopped using QH over some supply difficulties. Then explained the Gates/Chevy option on THO 1489.Got them in stock! It's for a Chevy Dasher. Also fits Renault 5 GT Turbo if thats any help.89degrees C.

They will do mail order as necessary via a card. Cost me £11 over the counter, and is as in the pictures above but brass body. Factor is PG Automotive in Matlock on 01629 56661 [5 fig no.]

Hope this helps

Kevin

YUP, that's the one.

Thats a better explanation than I could've given too.
