Question FBH Remote, which remote do you use

Having recently ventured into 4x4 territory where the vehicle is already fitted with the FBH as standard. I would like to convert this vehicle to the parking heater option, and would like some advice on the remotes used from other users.
On my 75 I have the Webasto T80 remote fitted which times out after 30 mins maximum.
There are other remotes available such as the Waeco MT350 and a Maplin version too. Do the Waeco and Maplin remotes time out after a set time to avoid flattening the battery.
I am fitting this feature to SWMBO's car, and I am concerned that she may not be too concerned about the heater running on until the battery goes flat.

Hi Lovel,
I have been using this for a year and you can adjust it to suit which time 10mins to 1 hour. You will need a mobile phone and SIM card see:

Well. basically it detects the light from a mobile when it rings, I use an old Samsung flipfone with the sensor taped against the screen. The circuit is held within the central armrest tunnel and it has been 100% reliable. I have a timer but I find the phone more userble.

Rufras, thanks for the info, unfortunately (or fortunately, depends the way that you look at it) we live in an area that has no mobile phone signal, and SWMBO is not too techy oriented, I thought the easiest for her is a remote handset that stops after 30mins max so as not to discharge the car battery too much.
Does anyone know if the Maplin or Waeco remotes automatically switch of after a pre-determined time like the Webasto T80?

Hmm, 84 views and no-one has any comments on the fitting of the Waeco or Maplin remote with regards to the running time and do they have timer cut outs to stop you ending up with a flat battery?

I've ordered the Maplins remote and timer but have not worked out how to fit them yet. I was hoping there would be an idiots guide as to how to wire it up. I can scan the instructions for you when they arrive if that would help.

Regards,
