Is this method also valid for a 75 2005 facelift?

I haven't got a facelift but I believe the fitting & removal of the door cards is the same.

Yes all doorcards the same.
The important bit missing from the OP's first thread is that the very top clip right next to the lock button needs to be a firtree type.

That's why a lot of door cards come adrift at the top as they have had the wrong clip put there earlier in it's life..

I've not known a doorcard to come loose if it's never been off before so this particular problem is I feel a man-made issue and not a bad design.

Remember ALL the doorcard clips can be reused........EXEPT the very top clip which has to be renewed.

I noticed the lone fir tree clip and still can't understand what difference it makes. What's the reason why a different clip is fitted at this one point?

Firtree is stronger to resist the inertia forces when door is slammed.

But if you put firtrees all round the card you would never get it off again!!!

A few photos

The fir tree clip, damaged on card removal.

The central door clip with card retainer still in position after card removal.
Note the barb on the metal tang which prevents the retainer from coming off. There's one also on the lower face. Nip the barbs together to allow retainer to pull off the tang.

The self-centering retainer after removal from door tang.

The retainer piece must be inserted onto the metal plate on the card before refitting it. This is a rear door. The front doors each have two retainer clips like this one.The funnel shape of the retainer ensures the tang enters and locks into position. A smart thump withyour hand will do it.

I have a 2004 facelift model. I can't seem to find the screw on the right in the blue box... I see a speaker there instead is it under that?
