Years ago I postulated (over a drink or two) that if I won the lottery, I would start a "Motorists Party". It would gain a majority in Parliament since it is the one thing which nearly every voter has in common.
On a more serious note, this move MUST be resisted. In my area of the infamous A14, they are putting in a 4 mile third lane, so we have a 40mph speed limit. The gridlock and pollution it is causing whilst the work is being carried out confirms that any lowering of the speed limits will increase not decrease pollution. As an aside, we all know what happens when 3 lanes converge into 2, so God knows what will happen when this is built! But at least a decent car makes most journeys tolerable. Moan over! |

I've never travelled at any posted speed limit ever!! I drive to the conditions I feel comfortable with, unless there's a copper behind.

this is from the same people who gave us diesel particulate filters,to cut pollution in towns and cities, and then you can get out on the open road, drive over 50mph to clear the filter and dump it all in the open space
all this from a non elected body of money grabbing people |
