Buying the kit is not a major problem.
Current KB price is $4,999 for the intercooler kit. After customs you'll be looking at roughly £4,400 just as Mick said. Installation is a bit involved and should take a couple of days, including the intercooler and all the pipe work. Most important thing is to get the map right as already pointed out. Some have successfully done a self-install, some didn't go that well. So £4,400 for the kit, say £1,600 in labour to have it done + £500 for the map and your're looking at £6,500 without any profit for the installer. Add the time and money spend to develop a safe map and £7,500 - £8,000 is a justifiable price. As said, some have carried out the conversion with success themselves, others haven't and ended up with expensive repairs. Thankfully there is a choice and it's up to the individual to either install themselves or go the tried and tested route. BTW. Pro-charger will be a struggle to fit, if possible at all. |
