Another simple way without T4 to test dynamically an ABS sensor.

I shall test the sensor - it was a new one so im assuming it was good - im also assuming a knackered pick up ring would mean no voltage in the sensor ?

It will rest at 0.7 or 1.7 with no change ...(i haven't a faulty ring)

Please tell us the result.

It'is the magnetic field change which make the voltage to commute from
a state to the other ....so ,

If the magnetic ring is in place , the voltage MUST VARY

46 cycles per wheel rotation if i remember ...

Only ignition on ,in order to have the sensor powered .
(jack up the related side ) and manually rotate the wheel.

hello mike, on that piccy of yours, is it o/s front. is the thinner wire ( as you describe ) yellow with a black stripe ( sorry if thats a dumb q but my ABS light came on tonight so am still getting my head around it all ). I see sensors range from around £12 on fleabay to nigh on £60 plus on Eurocarparts for a pagid sensor . A misdiagnosis could cost a fortune.
