Default The Gryphon Award

Dear all

We would like to announce that the Members Car of the Year Award will from now on be called The Gryphon Award. This is to mark our deepest respect for Garry who as you all know passed away this week.

The award will continue to be awarded at the first national meet of the year for the best car as voted for by you the members.

We are indebted to Jayne for allowing us to name this award after Garry and also Dave (Stocktake) for the part he played in making this possible.

Jayne has said she would like to present the award at a future meet and we would be so pleased if she would. For obvious reasons this may not be in May but any time Jayne is ready to present the award we would welcome her to the meet and make that possible.

Nothing else to say really apart from R.I.P. Garry and we will do you proud mate

From all of the club team

A fitting tribute to a brave, couragous man.

From my point of view I would like to thank all Mods, Admin and Directors alike for the support they have given on behalf of the club.

There have been many Pm's between these guys and I and no doubt each other, working behind the scenes to get to where we are now.

People going out of their way to help someone, who in some cases they never met.

Thankyou gentlemen.

As An aside
Jayne told Zac (son) last night about the award and It appears they had a drink and a few tears of joy to celebrate, just a short respite of cheer in these hard times for them.

Again Thanks to all the Guys in Green, appreciated

Thanks Dave - I think that everyone would agree that Garry was (is) a model of strength and courage in the face of cruel adversity. What that we could all be blessed with these attributes when the time comes. We are "only" a car club at the end of the day, but we are also about the people as much as we are nuts about the car - so this is just how we can show our appreciation in a small way fitting the man and fitting the club.

What a splendid idea I am sure in years to come this will have a special meaning to Jane and the family. As a new member, I have/am been a member of other car clubs.....and this is certainly not "just another car club"! more a live/virtual family of friends.
